Longmont Sentinel/Longmont Press historical note, [undated].

Copy of a handwritten note, the text of which reads: "Longmont's first newspaper, vol 1, no. 1, Longmont Sentinel, dated June 24, 1871 - Hall and Law editors and proprietors. After 3 or 4 issues the plant was bought by Elmer F. Beckwith who changed its name to Longmont Press, which first issue was dated Nov. 7, 1871. Vol. 1, no. 1 of the Sentinel is now in the Longmont Museum. Francis Beckwith, son of Elmer F. Beckwith."
